Inexpensive Robotic Mapping

I wrote this awesome paper about a drone prototype that performs Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) with cheap hardware. The idea is that a cheap drone is sent out to explore an unknown area autonomously, and it returns an occupancy grid map. Check out the detailed .pdf below.
